The FCC describes the iPhone as a "GSM Cellular Telephone with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi", carrying the model number A1203 and FCC Identifier BCGA1203.  As has been noted before in an alleged iPhone filing with the FCC, Apple did make its specific confidentiality requests that certain materials be excluded from public review.

The items fell into two categories:

Witheld temporarily for 45 days:

  • Test Setup Photos
  • External Photographs
  • Internal Photographs
  • iPhone User Manual

Witheld permanently:

  • iPhone's Block Diagram
  • Operational Description
  • Radio Schematic -
  • Radio Bill of Material -
  • Radio Tune-up Procedure
  • Exhibit notes

Also interesting to note that the filing only contains references U.S. GSM bands (850 and 1900).  While the iPhone is a QUAD band device, testing of the other bands are apparently not part of testing for U.S. regulatory bodies.

Apple maintains that the iPhone is on schedule for a late June launch.
